Augusta Byron
2017
After Lady Holderness’s death, Augusta lived with her father’s sister’s family. Catharine wrote and invited her to spend their first Christmas together and meet her brother. They bonded and kept a correspondence in which he complained to her about his teenage conflicts with his mother. Augusta acted as the big sister. In 1804 she confided in him of her engagement to their first cousin George Leigh, son of Frances. His family was not happy as they were both without fortune. They had seven children.
